A fun night of entertainment was had last Friday at The Dubliner, when Gary McCormick (More FM) and Tim Shadbolt (Mayor of Invercargill) came to town.
Gary, a New Zealand poet, radio and television personality, debater and raconteur, said, “We had a fantastic time in Methven. As I remarked at the start of the show: Methven looks great! And as the community has matured, its become a “funky little town!”
We enjoyed the accommodation at the Central Apartments, the hospitality of Gary and Karen at The Dubliner (the best Irish – or any other, stew I’ve ever tasted) and the people in the audience.”
Gary and Karen of The Dubliner said, “Gary and Tim were so relaxed about the event, it was sold out, a huge success, and they pulled out all the stops to entertain the crowd. It was great to see the locals out to enjoy a night of comedy, with only 80 tickets available, the intimate setting at the pub really added to the atmosphere.”
The feedback received was so good, that Gary and Tim are already talking about coming back next year!
In the meantime, don’t forget St Patrick’s Day is coming up on 17th March, so ‘Get Your Green On’, for some traditional music, Irish dancing and food.
