The Mountain Gym in Methven have organised a fun and active way to raise funds for a great cause – The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Everyone is invited to register a group or as individuals to create teams for the four hour ride off on Sunday 28th February. The key here is to raise awareness, have fun, get active and raise money for a great cause. Whatever your fitness level, age or ability, come and do your bit, big or small.
I met with Rosie Robinson and Sharon Kermode from Mountain Gym last week. Rosie, instigator of the event said, “this idea has been in the pipeline for a long time and the great team of people, the facility and also the equipment that we have at the Gym, meant that we could bring this event together. It is our way of showing our support for the members of our family, friends or community that have suffered from breast cancer.”
“The support from the local businesses for our event has been amazing.” Said Sharon, “Primo is offering a free coffee to all registered team members and Jenny Lott is coming in to offer free massages. We will also have a raffle, spot prizes, Liz McMillan will be here doing bra fittings and Megan Watene is bringing her Enjo products.”
There will be a great atmosphere at the gym for the Ride to Survive on February 28th with Body Balance being offered throughout the morning as well. Even if biking isn’t your thing, come down and join in the Body Balance, or just come and be involved. Show your support for such a worthy cause.
So get your team together, sign up as an individual to join others, or just come to support everyone as a spectator. It all kicks off at 9am at the Mountain Gym on Sunday 28th. Oh! And wear something PINK!!
85% of all proceeds go to The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, so register yourself or our team for just $20 per person, phone the Gym on 302 8889.
