Victoria Totty is going back to her roots and her passion by opening up The Pantry on Main Street, Methven.
She said, “My children are now at school and rather than put my feet up, I wanted to embark on a new adventure. I had the desire to do something I thoroughly enjoyed and am trained in and that is FOOD!
I love the idea of the English Sandwich Shop, which I really miss, so I am bringing a Kiwi version to life here in Methven.”
Victoria trained in Hotel Hospitality and Management and then went to work in hotel kitchens and front of house at Rookery Hall Hotel in Cheshire and Devonshire Arms Hotel in Yorkshire, working on large catering events and fine dining.
The Pantry will be open for breakfast through to after lunch, serving sandwiches and other hot and cold takeaway food. Although mainly a takeaway, she has a few seats available for those who want to pop in for a coffee and chat!
Victoria said, “We are keen to lock in local produce and food services so we can really draw on the abundance of great food suppliers we have in the district, and further afield around NZ.”
The location on Main Street is ideal for people passing through, on their way up the mountain or on the way to work. There are plans to expand products and services down the track for locals and travelers alike with a whole bunch of other ideas bubbling away in the background.
The Pantry will be opening Monday to Friday to start with, from 7am till 2pm.
“I’ve got a great team starting up with me, we are really keen to get started and this will be happening over the school holidays, so watch out next week for the OPEN sign on our door!
