Methven Hot Pools Ltd are very excited and thrilled to have reached a stage where concept plans have been drawn for the site. This is the culmination of many years of research and investigations. Getting to this stage wouldn’t been possible without support from the Methven community.
“We are thrilled to get to this stage after much hard work. The hot pool development would be a catalyst for tourism and retail growth in Methven and Mid-Canterbury. We have been blown away by the support we have received from the Methven community for the project.” Rob Brawley, Director of Methven Hot Pools Ltd and Grow Mid-Canterbury CEO.
The concept plans have been prepared by Christchurch architectural firm Warren Mahoney in conjunction with Land Arch and support from various technical experts from Novo Group, Urbis Planning, and E2 Environmental. The plans reflect what will be a world class facility and a great asset to Methven and Mid-Canterbury. In conjunction with Mt Hutt Ski Area’s announcement of winning New Zealand’s best ski resort for 2015, Methven’s future tourism prospects look bright. James McKenzie, Mt Hutt Ski Area Manager commented;
“The Methven Hot Pools will be an awesome asset for Methven and provide a complimentary activity to the Mt Hutt Ski field”
The concept plans will be available early next year for consultation with the community when they anticipate being in a position to apply for resource consent.
Methven Hot Pools Ltd looks forward to exciting times for Methven with opportunities still existing for further investment from interested parties.
